camera

I finally got a new (old) camera today! A Pentax K1000, the kind that photography students learn on. It was discontinued in 1997 but this one is probably older than that. It has that cool vintage feel to it and the pictures come out lovely. It should be fun to learn! Maybe I'll post some shots once I get the hang of it.

Here's some lyrics to a song I've been listening to a lot today. I haven't heard a lot of Joni Mitchell's stuff, but I'm gonna go buy another cd. I really like this song (it came on my Love Actually soundtrack lol)

Both Sides Now

Bows and flows of angel hair and ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere, I've looked at clouds that way.
But now they only block the sun, they rain and snow on everyone.
So many things I would have done but clouds got in my way.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.

Moons and junes and ferris wheels, the dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real; I've looked at love that way.
But now it's just another show. you leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know, don't give yourself away.

I've looked at love from both sides now,
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall.
I really don't know love at all.

Tears and fears and feeling proud to say "I love you" right out loud,
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds, I've looked at life that way.
But now old friends are acting strange, they shake their heads, they say I've changed.
Something's lost but something's gained in living every day.

I've looked at life from both sides now,
From win and lose, and still somehowIt's life's illusions i recall.
I really don't know life at all.

Zombie

Wow I really like this song. It's by The Cranberries. I'm assuming it's about the troubles in N. Ireland- haunting, really. Dolores O'Riordan has a very interesting voice too, I really like it.

Even though I have a bit of a journal on my last.fm, I think I'll post stuff like this here too when I have the time. Not like I've had much lately with SAT's coming up and stuff. It's crazy!

Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken.
And the violence caused such silence,
Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey.
What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou...

Another mother's breakin',
Heart is taking over.
When the vi'lence causes silence,
We must be mistaken.

It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen.
In your head, in your head they're still fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are dying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh

new

I really only started this account so I can leave comments on Rachel Fuller's blog! Not planning on writing much on here but I thought I should have at least an entry or two. ;)
